To: Harvard Club of Republic of China Members
Dear Fellow Harvard Alumna/us:
Seasons Greetings from Cambridge!
Since
September, I have been back at Harvard as a Senior Fellow at the Center for
Business and Government of the Kennedy School of Government. This winter we have
already had two major snowstorms -- we have become quite unaccustomed to snow
and cold weather after more than 20 years living in Taiwan and Hong Kong. Still,
the Charles River is very beautiful in winter, and there is certainly a feeling
of Christmas in the air as the holiday draws near.
In addition to my work at the
Center, there have been many fascinating activities here. In particular, our
past Club president Dr. Eric Wu came and gave a very interesting talk on
constitutional reform at the Law School. While in Cambridge, I have met with the
Harvard ROC Student Club, some of whose members were recipients of our Club’s
annual scholarships. We will make sure that each and every one of them sign up
to join our Club when they get their degrees and return to Taiwan.
I
would like to thank the Harvard Club director and supervisors – especially
Vice President Jih-chu Lee and Vice President Stephen Tsuei – for taking care
of the club affairs in my absence. If any Taiwan alumni get an opportunity to
visit Boston in the coming months, please come see us. I can be reached at
jeffrey_williams@ksg.harvard.edu.
In closing, my family and I wish all of you and your loved ones a happy holiday and a happy, healthy and successful 2004.
Best regards,
Jeffrey R Williams President Harvard Club of ROC
